What Rules Would You Like to See Changed in Your Favorite Sports?

 

I do not think rules in some sports should be changed because some are fine. But some sports should have rules changed. In football I think the “face mask” rule is unfair. I think that the rule should only be called if the runner is tackled with the face mask. If their facemask is just pulled and nothing happens then they shouldn’t call a face mask.  Also I don’t there should be a flag for hitting a defenseless player if you are just defending the runner like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH75LwUtqI0 they called hitting a defenseless player. I think that he lowered his shoulder and lead with his shoulder and hit his front side, not his back. Also block in the back should be changed because if you block someone it the back and they are +20 yards away from the play then there should be no block in the back call. If someone blocks another person in the back and abuses the no call they should get called then but otherwise there should be no call if the block in the back is called +20 yards away from the play. In conclusion this is why some rules should change.

(ID) Spanish

One of my favorite classes is Spanish. I like Spanish because there are a lot of my friends and Spanish is fun to do. I also like Spanish because it is the last class of the day. I like Spanish because we learn a new language and do fun activities. We listen to stories and if we have questions about words our teacher tells us what they are or what they mean. We normally work with the same words until we master them. It is very hard not to pass Spanish because it is so fun. The only way you can fail is if you don’t pay attention. I like Spanish because I have lots of friends in that class. Most of the time when the teacher isn’t talking it’s like a rivalry with my friends and I. We are always back and forth to get the each other in a story in front of the class. We also have a very good teacher that is very dedicated to us and school. She told us the only day she would be gone is if she had a meeting or someone in her family had something bad happen to them. We also go the other classes to sing songs we have learned in Spanish. Today we Skyped her family in Spain. We asked then questions and we sang to then an English song then they sung is a song in Spanish. Over all I think Spanish is my favorite class.

Offensive Sports Names and Mascots

Is it offensive to have Native American Mascots? I personally don’t think that Native American Mascots are offensive. I don’t think there offensive because they are just a name. I would think that their names are offensive if there were doing offensive things like sphering things or other things to mimic the Native Americans. If people called other people names like ‘Red Skin’ or ‘Black Skin’ then I would think they should change the name. Also if their logos or jerseys were offensive then they should change their names. I’m sure the fans of the Redskins, Braves and Indians are fine with their team names. Also FSU (Florida State University) Seminoles don’t mean to harm Native Americans. I think they should do a vote not for everyone just Native Americans. If names were so bad there wouldn’t be Billikens, Vandals, Ragin’ Cajuns, Trojans, and Hookies to name a few. If there is no harm then why should people change it? When you hear someone talk about a sport and say ‘Redskins’ or Braves’ it’s not in a bad way it’s just the name. People have called them the Redskins since 1932. To me it’s funny how the redskins name became offensive just now. Although people think the name may be offensive really it’s just a name. My Favorite Sports Teams

My favorite NFL teams are the Bears and the Patriots.  My favorite players on the bears are Devin Hester, Mat Forte, Brandon Marshal and Jay Cutler. My favorite players on the patriots are Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez and Tom Brady. My favorite college teams are Alabama, Oregon and Nebraska. My favorite players on Alabama are TJ Yeldon and AJ McCarron. My favorite players on Oregon are Marcus Mariota, De’Anthony Thomas and Kenjon Barner. My favorite players on Nebraska are Imani Cross, Kenny Bell and Taylor Martinez. My favorite basketball teams are Oklahoma City Thunder and the Chicago Bulls. My favorite players on OKC are Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Surge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins. On the Bulls my favorite players are Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer. I don’t really follow College basketball but if I do I like Kentucky, Oregon, Louisville and Gonzaga. Sometimes if I watch Baseball I like to watch St. Louis and the Yankees. My favorite player is Alex Rodriguez.  

Sports (Passion)

 

Football is my favorite sport. I watch football on TV, mostly college but sometimes pro. My favorite college teams are Alabama, Oregon and Nebraska. My favorite players are Lemichael James, Deanthony Thomas, Rex Burkhead and Taylor Martinez   I play football for NCYFL. In football I am a running back, wide receiver, corner and safety. So far we are 7-0 scoring 282 points this season and only gave up 26. Another sport I like is basketball. In basketball I am a point guard and small forward. When I played we were 8-1. I mainly watch the NBA on TV. My favorite team is Oklahoma City Thunder. My favorite player is Kevin Durant. I also run track. In track I run the 100m, 200m 4x100 and long jump. I only lost twice in the hundred and 3 times in the 200. Our relay team never lost and we won finals. In logjump I would normally get 2^nd but always came closely behind. My fastest time for the100 is 12 seconds, for the 200 is 28 seconds, long jump is 14 feet and our 4x100 time is 52 seconds. I don’t really play baseball but when I do I am a pitcher, first base, shortstop and center field. My favorite player is Alex Rodriguez.

My Favorite Picture Books As A Kid

I don’t really remember my childhood that much but I do remember my favorite picture book. My favorite picture book growing up was Harold and the Purple Crayon. Although it is very old I liked this book because of the adventures Harold would have. The main character is Harold. Harold is a curious four-year-old boy who, with his purple crayon, has the power to create a world of his own world by drawing it. Harold wants to go for a walk in the moonlight, but there is no moon, so he draws one. He has nowhere to walk, so he draws a path. He has many adventures looking for his room, and in the end he draws his own house and bed and goes to sleep. Some other of my favorite books were Where The Wild Things Are, Go Dogs Go, Green Eggs and Ham and Are You My Mother. In where the wild things are a boy dresses as a wolf and gets in trouble a lot and as he is in his room his room turns into a jungle.  I remember in Go Dogs Go dogs would always drive cars and one girl dog would ask a boy dog if he liked her skiing hat and her flower and things like that. In Green Eggs and Ham, Sam I am goes around asking people to try his green eggs and ham and one character always says, “I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them Sam I am.” Sam keeps trying and trying but finally at the end of the book the character try’s the green eggs and ham and likes them. In Are You My Mother a hatching bird falls from its nest and goes around asking other things like boats cranes, cats, dogs, cars and other random things if they are the baby birds’ mother. Finally at the end of the book the baby bird is reunited with its real mother.
